How did Madelia Public School District students do on 2021-22 MCA and MTAS Math tests?

Madelia Public School District ranked second in the Watonwan County for test participation, with 313 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Madelia Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 2.6% over the previous year.

Madelia Public School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 41% in 2021-22 school year.

Seventh grade students stood out with 11% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, 11th-grade students had the most room for improvement, with 61% not meeting the expected standards.

Madelia Public School District encompasses schools within Watonwan County and has a main office in Madelia.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.
